Ben Dawson
Chairperson and Headteacher at Aldington Primary

I grew up in Smeeth and have lived fairly locally all my life with the exception of heading to Bath for University. Since becoming a teacher I have taught in a variety of places in Bath, Canterbury and Ashford. All these schools helped me to develop as a teacher, learn new skills and progress my career. Moving to Aldington as Deputy and then Co Headteacher has opened many new opportunities. I am now the Headteacher and will continue to contribute to the success and reputation of Aldington.
Kim Olsen
Kaleidoscope Childcare Manager and Charity Secretary

I joined Kaleidoscope in August 2023 taking over from Karina as Nursery Manager. Prior to this I have managed other Early Years settings both in Devon and Kent and I also spent eight years teaching Early Years at Folkestone College. I am very passionate about ensuring that we provide a high quality of care and education for the children and that we offer rich experiences to enhance their holistic development and wellbeing. Relationships and attachments are so important and I feel that Kaleidoscope has a huge role to play in supporting the local community to come together.

Trustee

Since having my little girl in 2021, the importance of early childhood development has never been more apparent as I witness her growth and learning before starting school and the classroom environment that I am much more familiar with. My little girl started at Kaleidoscope in September 2024 and I have been so impressed with the care, excitement and compassion that the team bring to her days and my husband and I are so grateful to have found somewhere that we know she is safe, happy and enriched while we are at work.
I am hoping that I can support the nurseries development; working alongside the amazing team and sharing some new ideas to help it go from strength to strength and positively impact many young lives and families in the future.
Louise Bolognini
Trustee

As a trustee at Kaleidoscope Childcare I’m proud to support the development and wellbeing of children during one of the most important stages of their lives. I became involved with the nursery because my own daughter started attending and I believe every child deserves a safe, caring, and inspiring environment to learn and grow.
My background is in town planning, which I think gives me a strong appreciation for how well-designed, inclusive spaces can support communities and positively influence early development. I bring this perspective to my role on the board, helping to ensure the nursery continues to thrive as a welcoming and supportive place for children, families, and staff. It’s a privilege to be part of the Kaleidoscope community and to contribute to the nursery’s ongoing success.
